Editorial Policies
Open Access Policy
EconoQuantum adheres to the diamond open access model, under which all content is made immediately, permanently, and freely available to readers without any subscription, access, submission, processing, or publication charges. The journal considers the unrestricted availability of scientific output essential for promoting the dissemination of knowledge, strengthening academic collaboration, and advancing research in economics, finance, and related disciplines.
EconoQuantum manages its editorial process through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform and does not charge any fees for the submission, review, editing, processing, or publication of manuscripts. In accordance with applicable copyright legislation, EconoQuantum recognizes and respects the moral rights of authors. Upon acceptance of a manuscript for publication, authors are required to sign a copyright transfer agreement assigning the economic rights to the University of Guadalajara exclusively for the purposes of editing, publishing, disseminating, and preserving the content in open access.
Authors may enter into additional agreements for the non-exclusive distribution of the published version of their work, including deposit in institutional, subject-specific, or personal repositories, provided that clear and explicit acknowledgment is given that the article was first published in EconoQuantum. Users may read, download, cite, share, print, and distribute the published content, provided that appropriate credit is given to the authors and to the original publication in the journal, the source is properly cited, and the material is not used for commercial purposes.
The contents of EconoQuantum are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Atribución-NoComercial-SinDerivadas 4.0
Section Policies
EconoQuantum comprises two sections: “Articles” and “Supplements.”
- The “Articles” section publishes original scholarly works that not only emphasize the use of quantitative methods in the analysis of economic and financial phenomena, but also employ advanced and/or innovative techniques.
- Unlike the “Articles” section, the “Supplements” section does not prioritize the formal use of quantitative methods. However, contributions included in this section must meet the journal’s academic quality standards. Examples of eligible works include updated literature reviews on specific topics in economics or finance, as well as non-technical presentations of economic theories or models intended to serve as study guides for non-specialists, students, or researchers from other disciplines.
EconoQuantum does not accept book reviews, case studies, essays, or theoretical models lacking empirical foundations.
Antiplagiarism Policy
Research misconduct may be identified by the editorial team, reviewers, or readers. Allegations will be considered provided they are substantiated and supported by evidence. Cases will be handled in accordance with the flowcharts developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), adapted to the journal’s structure.
Examples of authorship-related misconduct include plagiarism, self-plagiarism, prior publication of the same material, and falsification of data or research findings. The Editor-in-Chief will act as the first point of contact and will notify the author concerned of the specific allegation, requesting a response without disclosing the identity of the complainant.
The case will be reviewed by the members of the Technical Committee and/or Editorial Board, who will collectively determine the appropriate course of action based on the evidence provided and the severity of the case. This may result in the withdrawal of the manuscript from the review or editing process, or the retraction of a published article.
When misconduct is serious and may constitute a legal violation, the case will be referred to the Office of the General Counsel of the University of Guadalajara. If deemed necessary and/or beneficial to the scientific community, the universities or research centers affiliated with the author under investigation, as well as relevant governmental authorities, may be informed.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that manuscripts submitted to EconoQuantum are original, have not been previously published, and are not under consideration elsewhere.
To prevent and detect plagiarism at an early stage, all manuscripts undergo screening using iThenticate before being accepted for peer review. This process identifies similarity levels with other texts and verifies that cited information is properly attributed to its original source.
Self-archiving Policy
Authors who self-archive contributions published in the journal must comply with the following requirements:
- First publication: Authors grant the journal the right of first publication of their work.
- License of use: The material is distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License.
- Citation and original link: The original publication must be referenced through a link to the journal’s website or its DOI.
- Attribution: Any use or self-archiving by third parties or by the authors themselves must explicitly acknowledge authorship and the article’s initial publication in EconoQuantum.
- Permitted version: The dissemination of the final published version (post-print or publisher’s version) is permitted and encouraged to increase visibility and impact.
EconoQuantum promotes scientific integrity, transparency, and excellence in research and strictly adheres to the official position of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) regarding the use and authorship of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and Large Language Models (LLMs).
Authors should note that:
- Artificial Intelligence tools do not meet the criteria required to be recognized as authors or co-authors of a manuscript.
- The use of AI tools is permitted exclusively as technical or editorial support, provided that such use is explicitly disclosed.
If AI tools have been used in any of the following activities:
- Drafting or refining the manuscript;
- Producing images, graphics, or visual elements;
- Collecting, cleaning, processing, or analyzing data;
authors must provide a detailed disclosure in the Methodology, Materials and Methods, or equivalent section of the article, specifying the exact name of the tool used (including version or model) and the specific function it performed.
Authors bear full responsibility for the integrity of all content included in their manuscripts. This includes, without limitation:
- Any sections, data, translations, or graphics produced, edited, or assisted by AI tools;
- Verification that AI-generated content does not involve plagiarism, fabrication, methodological bias, or the invention of data.
