Editorial Policies and Practices
Code of ethics
EconoQuantum maintains codes of ethics for evaluators, authors, and editors based on the codes of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). They can be consulted at the following link https://publicationethics.org/files/Spanish%20%281%29.pdf
Confidentiality
The Editor and his team undertake not to share any information about the manuscripts received for publication with anyone outside the Technical Committee, Editorial Board, authors, or evaluators. Intellectual honesty and integrity will be guaranteed throughout the process and after the article is published.
Respect for the double-blind method of peer-review will be ensured through the elimination of any indication of authorship in the documents of both authors and reviewers.
Except for institutional affiliation, e-mail address, ORCID identification number, and other information that the authors request to include in the text of published articles, the personal information of the authors will be confidential.
Allegations of bad practice
The editorial team, Editor, Reviewers, or readers may identify bad practice, in which case the accusations will be addressed as long as they are substantiated, and evidence is provided. These cases will be dealt with by referring to the flow charts issued by COPE, adapting them to the structure of the Journal.
Some cases of bad practice in authorship can be the following: plagiarism, self-plagiarism, previous publication of the same material, and falsification of data and research results.
The first respondent will be the Editor of the Journal, who in the first instance will contact the indicated author to make them aware of the specific case and request a response to the allegation, without revealing the name of the person who made it.
The case will be shared with the members of the Technical Committee and/or Editorial Board, who will decide based on the evidence and severity of the case. The above may result in the withdrawal of the article from the review or editing process, or the withdrawal of the published article from the website of the journal.
When the fault is severe and involves a violation of the law, the case will be turned over to the Legal Counsel Office of the Universidad de Guadalajara, from where the process will continue.
If considered necessary or useful for the scientific community, the Universities or Research Centers of the author under investigation, as well as the corresponding government agencies (CONACyT, in the case of Mexico), may be involved in the case.
In order to prevent and attend quickly to cases of plagiarism, a detection system (iThenticate) has been implemented, where the level of similarity with other texts is identified, and the information cited is correctly attributed to its original authorship. All articles pass through this system before being accepted for evaluation.
Complaint handling process
Complaints will be received from authors as long as they are well-founded. They will be dealt with as far as possible following the guidelines and flow charts of COPE, as well as the internal rules of the journal.
In no event shall the complaint resolution process involve revealing the identity of Reviewers. Any complaint about an evaluation process will be dealt with as long as the author identifies possible errors in the review of the text, but the suitability of the Reviewer cannot be questioned.
Complaints shall be addressed to the Editor, with all the arguments and evidence necessary to consider the case. If necessary, the Editor will seek the support of the Technical Committee or Editorial Board or one of their members who is an expert in the subject of the article in question.
A response to the complaint will be given within a period no longer than three months.
Conflict of Interest
The Editor undertakes to inform readers of the steps taken to ensure that the contributions of the members of the Technical Committee or Editorial Board, that were published in the journal, received an impartial and objective evaluation, as well as to declare any possible conflict of interest in the management of an editorial process due to institutional affiliation, ethical position, or personal, family or work relationship.
Editorial Practices
The editorial process is done through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. There is no fee for submission or processing of manuscripts.
EconoQuantum will consider for possible publication unpublished articles that are not being submitted simultaneously for publication in another medium. The violation of this instruction will prevent the evaluation of future works that are submitted by the author(s).
Privacy Statement
The names and e-mail addresses entered in this journal will be used exclusively for the purposes stated in it and will not be provided to third parties or used for other purposes.
See the privacy policy of the Universidad de Guadalajara:
